Cheers to Our Team!

Congratulations to the men’s basketball team for an exciting season! The eighth-seeded Vikings made it all the way to the Horizon League Championship game, with five charter buses taking fans to Little Caesars Arena in Detroit to cheer the squad. Sadly, the magical run ended as second-seeded Wright State claimed a 74-57 win. This was the Vikings first championship game since 2009. We’re already rooting for a title next year!

Athletics Hall of Fame

Four new members have been inducted into the CSU Athletics Hall of Fame — Sarah Galon, Christine Kohler Myeroff, Kristen Obush and Jake Scott.

Galon (2003-2007) was a standout on the women’s tennis team and the first to earn First Team All-Horizon League honors for four consecutive years. She finished her playing career with 79 career singles wins and 75 doubles victories.

Myeroff (1983-1986) was a four-time letter-winner in track and a three-time letter-winner in cross country. She set school records in the 4×400 meter relay team event in 1986 and held records in the 1,500 meters and the long jump, where she jumped 15 feet, 6 inches.

Obush (2002-2006) has been heralded as one of the most dominant golfers in Horizon League history. She earned all-league honors four times, shot a school record round of 74 which now ranks sixth all-time, was the top finisher in 35 of 44 tournaments and recorded 12 top-10 finishes in her career.
